13 Jun 12:30 PM - 03:30 PM
11
HALF DAY PM
We discuss the development and physiology of the airway of the premature/infant. We then discuss the challenges presented to this delicate physiology when an ETT or oxygen therapy/noninvasive therapy is applied and cold medical gas is delivered. The clinical benefits associated with the delivery of optimal humidity are reviewed.
The various forms of respiratory support are discussed in detail including new recommendations and innovations in infant respiratory support - nasal high flow therapy or junior Optiflow. These discussions are complemented with extensive hands on sessions.
